vasectomy

    A vasectomy is a form of birth control for men. The tubes that carry the sperm from the testicles to the prostate (the two vas deferens) are divided, resected, or clamped, to block the sperm from getting into the semen.

vas deferens

      The tube that carries sperm from the testicle to the prostate.

vasa deferentia
     Plural of vas deferens.

testicles
     Organs that produce sperm.

epididymis
     Storage organ for sperm on top of the testicle.

epididymitis
     Inflammation of the epididymis.

orchitis
     Inflammation of the testicle.

prostatitis
     Inflammation of the prostate.

prostate
     Male sexual organ that resides under the bladder.

sperm
     The male reproductive cell that carries the chromosomes to be united with the female egg.

semen
     Semen is composed of sperm, seminal fluid, and prostatic fluid.

seminal vesicles
     Sexual organs of the male, which reside on each side of the prostate, and contribute seminal fluid to the semen.
