A vasectomy is a form of birth control for men. The tubes that carry the sperm from the testicles to the prostate (the two vas deferens) are divided, resected, or clamped, to block the sperm from getting into the semen.

Many of the facts patients really need to know about vasectomies are not available to them. There are many controversies regarding vasectomies. There is not enough publicity about vasectomies, their side effects, and not enough research is being done about vasectomies.
